Eunice Kim is a collaborative pianist and chamber musician whose career spans North America and Europe. She has performed with musicians including Mihaela Martin, Robert McDuffie, former New York Philharmonic concertmaster Glenn Dicterow, Montreal Symphony concertmaster Andrew Wan, Grammy Award-winning violinist Mark O’Connor, and Düsseldorf Symphoniker concertmaster Dragoș Manza to name a few.
Kim is the pianist of Arco e Tasto, a piano and violin duo with Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Jinwoo Lee. The duo received the Best Duo Prize in Académie de Musique de Lausanne, Switzerland. Expanding on this partnership, the duo recently released their album, Once Heard, Long Forgotten, bringing to light neglected Romantic-era works by German female composers Emilie Mayer and Luise Adolpha Le Beau. In a review by Sonograma, the recording was praised for its "expressiveness and sensitivity admirably sustained," with critics highlighting that Kim's performance "does not act as a mere accompaniment, but as a generator of the emotional climate of the play."
Kim has performed at venues including Alice Tully Hall, David Geffen Hall, Carnegie Hall, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Kölner Philharmonie, Essener Philharmonie, and Dortmund Konzerthaus. Her performances have been featured on WPR, WETA, WQXR, Aspen Public Radio, and Swiss National Radio.
Alongside her performing career, Kim is active in teaching and mentorship. She has worked with students at the Aspen Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Great Mountain International Music Festival in Korea, and the International Summer Academy at the Mozarteum. She has also served as a mentor for the Washington Musical Pathways Initiative and the National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellowship Program. She currently serves on the faculty of Morningside Music Bridge.
Kim earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance magna cum laude in three years from Nyack College, followed by a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from The Juilliard School, and holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Collaborative Piano. She previously served on the faculty of the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany. She currently resides in Thiensville, WI, with her husband and two sons and serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.
